Sparkling Navy and Ivory Wedding: Tara + Bryan

Sparkling Navy and Ivory Wedding: Tara + Bryan

Even though Tara had always dreamed of a winter winter, she simply couldn’t wait that long to marry the love of her life, Bryan.  Their classic summer wedding was full of sparkle and shine with the sparkling navy blue bridesmaid dresses and contrasting ivory and blush bouquets.

Sparkling Navy & Ivory Wedding

From the Photographer: Tara & Bryan had a gorgeous classic wedding in Washington, Iowa Their day featured beautiful sparkly navy dresses and the perfect ivory and blush florals. A few modern touches like hand etched wooden hangers, a custom cut cake topper, and the ever popular wedding marquee, brought their classic wedding a few fun modern touches. It was a gorgeous day!

From the Bride, Tara: My husband, Bryan, and I went to a small high school together in Wellman, Iowa and oddly enough, didn’t start our three years of dating until we were well into our college years. I was an event planner in Fairfield, Iowa, and it was the first snow of the year when Bryan surprised me after a stressful day of work with my white and rose gold engagement ring. Although I’d always wanted a winter wedding full of snow and holiday cheer, we knew we couldn’t wait another year to tie the knot. In fact, June 11th seemed like the hottest day of the year, but the weather didn’t bring us down.

For our wedding theme, we decided on classic navy & ivory, with hints of blush. Blue brings out Bryan’s beautiful eyes, and I love sparkle, so sequined navy bridesmaid dresses set the tone for our day. The church I’d attended growing up was recently remodeled, and our amazing photographer captured every special moment in that gorgeous space during our ceremony. Ivory flowers topping gold candle sticks were my favorite centerpiece at our reception venue, along with Eiffel tower vases and large flower orbs. Our wedding party appreciated cold drinks and a few minutes to let loose after we became Mr. and Mrs., and a delicious meal awaited us at the reception (pork, of course, as my family has proudly raised pigs since before I was born). The maid of honor and best man toasts were sweet and hilarious, and then we danced our first dance to “Die a Happy Man”. Our wedding was everything we wanted – easily the best day I could imagine – and it was the perfect beginning to our marriage.
