This wedding took place during the height of the 2016 floods in Cedar Falls, Iowa. No one could have ever imagined when planning for this day that there would be a flood that would threaten all the physical and emotional work that was poured into the planning of this event. The morning of the wedding, the Bride and her Bridesmaids got ready at the photographers gorgeous farmhouse while receiving updates on road closures and minor altered plans. As guests were rerouted and arrived at Beaver Hills Country Club, they were shuttled to the ceremony on golf carts and everything went beautifully from there.
Most people don’t think of Iowa when they think about a vineyard wedding, which is why we love to see submissions come through of weddings at Iowa vineyards. Iowa truly has some gorgeous vineyards and John Ernest Vineyard is no exception. We love the mix of grapevines, corn fields and old trees that come together for some truly amazing photos of Brittney + Trent.
One thing we love so much about today’s wedding is the clear excitement and love in the bride and groom’s eyes. With simple details it is clear that the most important part of their day was each other and being surrounded by family and friends. And who wouldn’t love individual pies instead of wedding cake?
We are very excited to launch our new Iowa Wedding Blog, Blushing Bells Iowa!
Why We Started Blushing Bells Iowa
With a background in weddings ranging from venue management, event planning and online wedding vendor, founder Deidra Pipho started Blushing Bells Iowa after noticing a need for a wedding blog that focused on Iowa weddings and the people of Iowa. We don’t focus on a certain look or niche, but instead want to showcase how beautiful Iowa weddings are, inspire Iowa couples getting married and also inspire couples around the world with our beautiful state and people.
What to Look Forward To
Since we’ve started discussing the idea for this site, we continue to hear what a great idea it is and we are taking that excitement and channeling it into our site. We will be featuring real weddings, real engagement/proposal shoots, styled shoots, wedding-related events, and DIY ideas. We will also be featuring an Iowa or Iowa Native vendor once a week.
We’ve been receiving submissions daily and can’t wait for you to see the beautiful content we have scheduled. Here is a little glimpse on what is to come…
