This wedding embodies everything we love about the Iowa Quad Cities. Saying their vows at a rural chapel and then celebrating at the historic Blackhawk Hotel in Davenport, not to mention photos with the Mississippi River as the backdrop, Lauren and Patrick were able to combine both rural and urban settings beautifully.
This wedding took place during the height of the 2016 floods in Cedar Falls, Iowa. No one could have ever imagined when planning for this day that there would be a flood that would threaten all the physical and emotional work that was poured into the planning of this event. The morning of the wedding, the Bride and her Bridesmaids got ready at the photographers gorgeous farmhouse while receiving updates on road closures and minor altered plans. As guests were rerouted and arrived at Beaver Hills Country Club, they were shuttled to the ceremony on golf carts and everything went beautifully from there.
Most people don’t think of Iowa when they think about a vineyard wedding, which is why we love to see submissions come through of weddings at Iowa vineyards. Iowa truly has some gorgeous vineyards and John Ernest Vineyard is no exception. We love the mix of grapevines, corn fields and old trees that come together for some truly amazing photos of Brittney + Trent.
