Photographer, Carrie Krupke, perfectly captured the sentimental details scattered throughout Jess + Ben’s wedding and reception. We fell in love instantly with the bride’s personalized tennis shoes and the bicycle goody bags. Let the adventure begin!
From the photographer: In a luxurious, tropical locale, Ben fervently tried to get Jess to look at the sky, the clouds, the birds in flight-anything to get her eyes off of him so he could get the shell case that was wedged in his pocket. The shell held his precious future and a promise to spend the rest of it all together. He finally dislodged the shell from its safe keeping and as he cracked it open to reveal a diamond ring, Ben asked Jess to stay with him and build their precious future together. Jess had the shell on hand with sea stars in it to add to their detail shots of the ring and I have to say, that she made the most creative program for their ceremony I have ever seen! It totally encompassed her personality and the fun, spunky way she and Ben love each other. Their reception also had a loving tradition passed through each female member of her family where they sing “A Bicycle Built for Two”. Their reception table details hearkened to that with goody bags featuring an antique bicycle on it. Jess & Ben’s outpouring of love to each other made the entire day feel relaxed, warm (even though it was a rainy, chilly day in May) and welcoming. I left their reception at the end of the night with great friends that felt like a member of my family.
Their wedding and reception took place at Tournament Club of Iowa and despite a few moments of mist coming down, we were able to explore the entire course, featuring gorgeous views and backdrops for their images. We may have trampled through some high brush, but Jess and Ben trusted me and my second shooter to get gorgeous images and they were willing to do whatever it took. It also was beneficial that Jess was wearing personalized chucks tennis shoes and could go “off-roading”!
